it's a (Bizarre) Wonderful Life
So there's a lot going on this week, but it's late and I'm starting to get sleepy, so I'm only going to share a couple quick things right now:
1) CONGRATULATIONS!! to my mom, who passed her (really hard, bizarro) licensure test and is now a REGISTERED NURSE!!!! She's been working towards this for more than 4 years and she's finally met her goal. I'm so proud! Go mom! WOOT!
2) I gave my very first Toastmasters speech today and I'm pleased to report that it went very well! I got some good feedback and felt very comfortable in front of the group. All good things.
3) Remember Cutie Boy, the guy I dated briefly when I was first back from Boston? I've heard from him only occasionally since our relationship sort of fizzled out in December 2005, but this evening he sent me a text message asking how I was and etc, and we ended up talking a bit. Short story: we're going to meet for dinner on Saturday night. Totally not what I was expecting when I woke up this morning (in fact, I don't think I've even thought about him in months). I think I'd kind of written him off as one of those people who come into your life for a particular reason and then depart just as quickly; I never really expected to hear from him again. So I was pleasantly surprised today but we'll see what happens Saturday. I'm keeping my expectations low. :)
Oh, and the last little thing I have to report is more of a lesson learned than an update but it is this: an iced, grande soy, no-whip mocha from Starbucks at 4 p.m. is not an acceptable substitute for actually eating dinner. :-P
Cheers everyone, and happy Labor Day weekend!

I bet that Mocha was good. I too have learned my lesson though. I don't even do afternoon caffeine anymore.
Have fun on the d-a-t-e or whatever it is. Don't do anything I wouldn't (that leaves it pretty wide open) lol.

Just finally catching up on a week's worth of blog reading...
MANY congrats to your mom from a nurse sister! And MANY congrats to YOU on your financial accomplishments...what you've done has shown such organization and planning and you SHOULD be very proud of yourself. I envy you and your perseverence(sp).
