Umm...Hola!?

It's day 2 of NaBloPoMo and after watching a bit of TV, just now I nearly shut down the computer without blogging. I completely forgot. And then? When I realized that I'd just come --><-- this close to forgetting, I seriously considered just not blogging tonight.

It's Day 2, people, and already I'm growing apathetic. How sad is that?? Sigh...

To be fair, though, I've been up since 7 am and I'm tired and my nose is stuffy and I have a whole weekend of creating an online store ahead of me. Sounds exciting, doesn't it??

Also, tomorrow is my 2-year sobriety anniversary. Hooray me!

And, last but not least, I've continued listening to Coffee Break Spanish and this morning my aunt called to tell me I'd gotten her hooked on it too! Unfortunately, the minute she started speaking Spanish to me I promptly forgot everything I've learned thus far, reverted back to my high school German, and thus found a weird mixture of Germ-ish coming out of my mouth:

Her: ¡Buenos Dias!
Me: ¡Hola! Wie Gehts?

Ummm... shouldn't that be, "¡Hola! ¿Que Tal? Or perhaps, "Que pasa, mi amiga!" Estupendo... :-P

It's fortunate I don't also speak French or I'd be in a world of hurt. We got a good laugh out of it, however, and I promptly re-listened to the first two episodes of Coffee Break Spanish again. I think my brain is back to Spanish-mode again.

But on that note, I'm off to bed. ¡Buenas noches! Hasta luego, amigos.

In college spanish class I often thought of responses in Russian which I took for 3 years in high school. Funny how the brain works!

CONGRATS on 2 years, can't believe it musta been 1 year ago that I was in PDX, cause I recall being there for your 1 year anniversay dinner - remember it, SUPER slow service & people left early & stuck us with the bill or somethin like that. Well whatever, congrats, well done, hope you enjoy your day!!!
As for speaking Gremanic-Spanish, when in foreign countries I tend to end up speaking a bit of French, since it's the only other language I really know, not sure why I think in Germany or Costa Rica anyone was gonna understand my French, but it is funny the way our brains must be wired and glad to know it's not just me, that you & Fran are the same way :)
