Nearly Done

Well, I don't have anything nearly as tantalizing as my boobs to write about tonight but since I am really working hard to hone my procrastination skills I figured I'd do some blogging.

Honestly, the only Big Thing right now that I can blog about (as opposed to the one Big Thing I can't yet blog about!) is that tomorrow I will turn in the link to my final Portfolio for school and, except for some presentation on Monday afternoon, I will be DONE! Finito! Over!! No more Art Institute Online!

Although I don't feel quite as burned out as I did when I finished college the first time around - which is not necessarily surprising given I've only been taking classes for 24 months this time - I am nevertheless thrilled to have completed this program and to be heading towards a 3.5 month break! This will be the longest break I have had since last summer's 2.5 month hiatus, which turned into a health nightmare, what with the MS diagnosis and so forth. (Literally, school ended and then I was diagnosed w/ MS a week later. Happy Summer!!)

Anyhoo... so my plan for the next three and a half months, you ask?

I'm going to indulge in reading books. (Perhaps I'll actually finish a couple of the books from Jen's summer reading list! Better late than never, right?) And blogging. And maybe, if I get really motivated, I'll clean the house on a regular basis! And I'm going to get back to knitting. And, lastly, I'm going to get back into shape - hopefully by running a couple times a week and walking the dog the other days. (Unless it's rainy and cold. Then I'm sitting in my house with a cup of hot cocoa.)

That actually seems like a lot of stuff to do, now that I look at it! However, I like to keep my options open. :)

My Total Money Makeover is going splendidly so far. Like other difficult changes I've been experiencing the last couple years, this program is fairly simple and straightforward but it isn't easy. Looking at yourself and your habits and where you've been irresponsible and stupid is downright painful and terribly, terribly humbling.

But it is doing the trick: I'm making progress, slowly but surely. I've nearly completed step 1 (saving $1000 in an emergency fund) and have started making progress on my debts: killing one this last payday. Two more should be dead by this time next month! It feels good to make progress - even small progress - and to see change happening.

As some of you may have noticed, I added an ad bar from BlogHer on my sidebar. I sincerely hope they aren't too distracting and that, at least, they will help cover the cost of hosting this site. (Oooh, and now I think of it, if I'm earning revenue on my blog, do I get to claim my blog hosting fees as a business expense?? Hmmm..... Anyone out there a CPA?)

So that's the latest and greatest from this corner of the world. I hope everyone is well!

Well probably by the time you read this you'll be nearly if not totally done :) Congrats, that's awesome! I remember the relief I felt a year ago when I got done, but to be honest it took awhile to actually sink in - hope you're is more immediate.

Back to the boobs issue, whw=ere do you get the best sports bras? I'm in need of one & can't seem to find one I like . . . any recommedations????

not a cpa, but i know the answer to this question. you can deduct expenses only from the income you earn through those expenses. what i mean is, you can deduct your blog hosting fees from the income you earn through your blog, but only that income, not your income from other sources, like your job.

you WERE planning on paying taxes on the income you make from your blog, right?

wow! you are one busy lady! you sound like you are doing really well...kudos to you.
