Umm.... how 'bout them Red Sox?

Yeah... I don't have much to say tonight. But as it's been... (checks calendar do-hickey on home page) ... 3 days since I last wrote I figured I'd update the site with the latest and greatest from my world.

Lesseee......
Ummm.....

Oh yeah! Copaxone!

Saturday I swung by my post office box and in said PO Box was my Copaxone auto-jector thingy and the really nifty blue tote bag with Copaxone information in it. This morning, the UPS man brought me an extremely large box that contained a sharps container and styrofoam cooler. Said cooler contained 6 freezer packs plus a bunch of bubble wrap, plus one very small box of Copaxone.

I am a bit concerned, lest I end up with a hundred of those freezer pack things over the next year or so... Seems a waste to throw them out, particularly if I need to go on a trip with my Copaxone, but still - who needs 72 4"x6" hard freezer packs? They're not even the kind that double as a heating pack that you can put on aches and pains. I suppose if I ever go on a cross-country trip again they'll come in handy!

I'm sure I'll have plenty in the coming months, though: let me know if you need to keep something cold! Heh.

Anyway, despite my anxiety about having to give myself these stupid injections every day, I have to say how impressed I am with the Copaxone people. They have been kind and attentive and I've had to do almost nothing to get started on this stuff. The nurse called me yesterday and as soon as I connect with her I'll get going on the drugs.

Also, I have one Avonex pack left: does anyone out there know where I could donate it for distribution to folks who need it but don't have insurance?

School is off and running again. I'm having a devil of a time trying to get engaged with the class and get my homework done on time... Harumph. I'm excited about the class, too... I just can't seem to get myself motivated to actually do the work.

Part of the trouble is I've been battling some nasty fatigue. Yesterday, I got up at 6, started work and by 8 am I was so exhausted I couldn't keep my eyes open. So I went back to bed - planning to just nap briefly - and slept for two hours. When I awoke I was STILL exhausted. I managed to work for an additional 4 hours and then logged off and slept another 3 and a half hours. So we're talking 7 hours of regular sleep, plus an additional 5.5 of "extra" sleep and I was still too tired to leave the house or do much more than stare at the TeeVee.

In other news... I've finished reading Daniel Deronda and will start on another one of the books on my list as soon as I get caught up for school! Meanwhile, I've started another project: my James Spader Project. Like Jen's Kiefer Sutherland project, this is the one where I set out to watch every film Mr. Spader has been in. The page for this project is started; you can see it here. Although I have seen a number of James Spader movies (in bold on that page) I've not yet had a chance to add my thoughts/reviews. Will get to that shortly - I would like them to be at least a bit thoughtful. :) I'm looking forward to re-watching Pretty in Pink... should be entertaining!

And... that's all folks. I'm off to bed to see if I can't get some energy back!

i remember people posting about donating medication on the MS World website, but i really don't know how to find that info again. it would be nice of you to donate that avonex.

good idea for a film project! i love james spader! i think secretary is my favorite role of his, with pretty in pink a close second. interesting that he hasn't made a film with kiefer, i'm surprised. (btw, kiefer has a james spader number of 2; there are probably a number of ways they can be connected in 2 steps, but one of them is through robert downey, jr. who was in "Less Than Zero" with james spader and in "1969" with kiefer.)

"Yesterday, I got up at 6, started work and by 8 am I was so exhausted I couldn't keep my eyes open."

I've had those days ... it's the worst when you get to work and find yourself incapable of functioning but too tired to drive home as well!

Hmmm...as a "nurse", I can tell you it is illegal to "gift" dispensed medication to someone else. And as someone with MS who has insurance, I have done that very thing...but due to laws governing my license and the mere fact I'd have to have you killed if I revealed my source, I can't go into that. LMAO

You might try checking with the local MS Chapter for an area support group...then contact them and see if anyone could use the Avonex if it happened upon them accidentally. Sometimes neurologists will quietly "recycle" medications to patients as well...but I know NOTHING about that practice!!!

Good luck and good rest.

We'll loan you White Palace. James Spader AND Susan Sarandon. It's a little movie, but it won me over and Mr. Spader is in nearly every scene. Yum.

We have Crash, too, so I'll send you that one. He has a minor role and it's a heavy movie, but well worth watching.

Oh, and BTW, Boston Legal was nominated for a best something Emmy this morning.

XO,
ACJ
