Busy Week, Good Day

Wow, so it's been quite the week! Crazy, crazy busy this week at work; so much so that I've been getting off quite late and to bed even later. Which, of course, means I get up and online late due to inability to wake up. Still, some days make it all worthwhile.

As I mentioned Tuesday, it's been a year since I started back at my company. My annual performance review was today and despite the tizzy I always get sent into over my reviews, today's was one of the most pleasant reviews I think I have ever had. I was given a fairly high rating (not the highest, but close to it) and also received a pay increase that takes effect on Thursday's paycheck! Wohoo! So that was all good. It's always nice to be told you're doing a good job.

I also have finally decided what I want to use my 4-week sabbatical time for: by September, I'll be finished with the Web Design diploma I've been working towards at the Art Institute. One I'm done with that, I'm going to take a couple months off and then I'd like to go back to PCC or Portland State (or wherever, really) to explore some more of my interest in the geeky/technical data stuff. Once I start back, it'd be awfully nice to be able to have a little extra time to devote to actually going to class and doing homeowrk. So I'm thinking I may use the extra paid time off to reduce the hours I'm working without reducing my income.

Some things I've been looking into include PSU's BS in Computer Science/MS in Biomedical Informatics and Information Systems programs, as well as some generic computer science classes at PCC. So we'll see. In the meantime, I have to get approval for my "plan" and then I can figure out costs, etc!

Happy Happy!

Glad to hear you got a good review! You certainly deserved one! :-)

Hmm, not interested in more artsy/tech type classes like animation and making multimedia (such as songs for the computer)?

congrats!!

Sounds like you're doing really well!!

Fancy meeting me in Thailand in Nov? (check my blog if you don't understand)
