Technical Updates

So I have been completely useless all day. I have been working on a website for school that utilizes PHP in a variety of ways and I think I'm either getting sick or I'm just extraordinarily tired because I stared and stared at the book and my online lectures for quite a while and nothing sank in. I had to - literally - dig into a couple other people's sites and look at their code and see what THEY did before I even started to get it. And all this with the needed code IN the lectures. For some reason I needed to see it in action... or sort of in action. No clue why.

Anyway, someone once told me, "good designers borrow, great designers steal." I'm going to assume this is the case with programmers too.

So the technical updates: I finally got around to solving the problem with TypeKey authentication on this here blog. For those of you who wish to, you can sign in with your typekey id and your comment will be posted to the blog immediately, bypassing the approval process and all that fun stuff. For those of you who DON'T want to use TypeKey, that's fine too - you'll just leave a comment as normal and I'll approve it whenever I get around to it.

I am, however, considering enabling TypeKey-authentication for all comments because I have enough trouble with Spam (grrr) that it just might make it worthwhile. I didn't want to just set it up out of the blue though - I'm just not sure how many of my readers (am I up to 5 now? 6 even? :) are even familiar with it. TypeKey registration itself is free and apparently private. And you can use it on other TypeKey enabled sites (such as Wil Wheaton's site), or even TypeKey-enable your own site!

So thereya go. It's nifty. All the cool kids are doing it. You know you want to.

Or, you know, don't use it. Up to you. I'm not your mother.

Comments

WOW, I'm surprised you get so many spam comments, I use to until I signed up for the "word verification" and now I just get ones from real people, but if you go with it, I'm up for the challenge of learning it :)

Don't you just hate spam! It is so annoying. I have comment authentication on my blog to help control spam...I say go for it. :)

For someone who only just recently learned how to turn a computer on and off, you're scaring me!!! LOL
I'll probably just continue to use the "Roundtoit" button...and let you get "round to it" posting my comments when you can...
