Moment of Gratitude

Grins has an interesting post up today about gratitude and those small flashes of gratitude that we sometimes get in life. Sure, we're all grateful for health and wealth and family and whatever, but sometimes it's those little things that make us feel the most blessed.

I had a moment of gratitude this morning when I looked up from the couch and noticed the sun streaming through the window in the dining room, shining on the wood floor. The floor was clean and reflective and created a window-shaped patch of light. It was so pretty and idyllic I had to just stop and smile and feel happy and satisfied and grateful for my little bit of energy, my apartment and the fact that it was sunny but not too warm outside.

Sometimes, I think God speaks to us in simple ways and most of the time we just don't stop to listen. This was one of those times.

Comments

I think over the last several years one of my biggest sins has been to not live in the moment. To not stop and appreciate my life at that very second. I'm going to try to just relax and find these moments more often.
