I've Decided...
...to start running again. It's been almost 9 months since I returned from Boston (wow!) and I've run at least once, maybe twice, since returning. When in Boston, I still had some serious issues with my IT Band and now that I've been off for a while, it feels like it might be a good time to ease my way back into it.
My plan is to start by running twice a week, on Tuesday and Saturday mornings. I'll start with five minutes of gentle stretching, then do an easy twenty minute run (doing a 5:1 run:walk pattern if needed) and finish with 5 or so minutes of serious stretching.
Rennie and I have been taking a daily 20-minute walk and so far I've not had any IT Band issues from that. So, I'm hoping that a very gentle, easy re-entry process will make it possible for me to get back into the swing of things. One thing I know for sure: sitting on my ass for 40-50 hours a week just doesn't keep me fit and trim and while the walking helps, it's just not enough.
So we'll see how this little plan plays out...

Tell me if you want a running partner--I've started up again as well and have a really nice track across the street from my house. :-)

Good luck with it. I haven't run since college days really. I'm always afraid my breast will poke my eye out or something.
