Family Resemblance?
I had to do a little exercise for my digital image manipulation class today, repairing problems in a photograph. I happened to have a bunch of old family photos that my uncle had sent my dad a while ago (being an electronic pack-rat pays off, once again!) so I picked the one with the most glaring problems and set to work:
These two are apparently my great, great grandparents, Fred and Almira, on my dad's dad's side (didja get that?). I'm not convinced this is the best rendering of error correction, but I have determined with certainty where the family nose comes from. Check out the schnozzes on those two!!
Anyway, I'm thinking it's not bad for my first attempt and hopefully I'll get better at photo correction as I do more of it.

What a great family photo. As for the technical aspects, I rather liked a sienna tone, have you thought about trying it with one and backing off on the contrast of the black and white just a tad? Sometimes a bit too much contrast will cause the edges of objects to flare too much and you lose detail versus gaining it.

Good one. If I were you, I'd crawl on my hands and knees till I found that etched, leaded window! That is such a Portland window! Hoo nose how many little schnozzes have flattend themselves against it. I think it's cool. And the picture is, too.

I agree Paul, it is a beautiful window isn't it? A treasure of an architectural find.
