60 Days Old!
Today is a good day, because it's the 60th consecutive day I've remained sober. Hooray for me! And the very first day of the new year is an especially great day to be celebrating my sober infancy.
I made it through new year's eve by drinking peppermint tea, knitting socks and watching the super-extended edition of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King with my friend Roy while eating Finding Nemo fruit snacks, cranberry-orange cathedral cake and whatever else bad food I could find to shove into my mouth. It was brilliant.
In truth, I just don't have any desire to drink right now. Numb my feelings and escape? Yes, definitely have that desire. But the craving to use alcohol to do so is pretty much gone, and this is such a blessing. None of it has been or is easy and likely will not ever be so, but I've got a great support system - my family, dear friends from years past, and some wonderful new friends who all love me in spite of my issues. I don't think I could be any more blessed.
Things seem to be going along just as they should. So THANK YOU! to those of you who have been (and continue to be) there for me and HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone! I'm hoping this year is the best ever.
Love,
Zee

Congratulations! Yes, you are blessed.
BTW: My First Wife knits scarves by the boatload to give for gifts. Right now she's knitting some for herself.
Happy New Year, Zee. It will be a good year for you.

Yay!!! Congratulations, Lindsey! I'm so proud of you, my friend. It's not easy admitting you have a problem, let alone toughing it up through everything that leads to its solution. You're an amazing person!
