New & Notable
Things have gone really well today.
Here's a sampling:
- Travel Plans: In our weekly marketing team meeting, I was given the OK by my boss to go to our industry's annual convention. I typically hate trade shows and conventions, but this particular convention is in San Diego in August the week before my birthday. And that, of course, means it will be really easy to jump on a flight home to Portland for a couple days! I can't think of a better birthday present. :) The only trick now, of course, is figuring out what to do with Rennie while I'm gone. Ideas are percolating.
- Heroes of the West: Remember that CD my dad sent me a month or so ago that had all the music he and his friend Tim played as a duo back in the 80s? Well, dad and Tim have decided to officially release it under the title "Heroes of the West," and my copy came in the mail today! The CD is slated to be posted to CDBaby.com shortly. I'll post a link when it's available and if I get permission from my dad I may even post a couple samples of the songs here... Check back soon.
- Who are those guys? Have you seen Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid? No? Well you should. Fabulous movie, and true story! I watched it again last night for the first time in years. I'd originally seen with my dad, and I appreciated it more now than I did back then. My favorite line, said by Sundance to Butch Cassidy towards the end of the filmi, "Don't you get sick of being right all the time?"
- Seen in a barren garden on my walk with Rennie:

Doesn't DD live in San Diego? Maybe you could meet him?! (I admit that my matchmaking mind is churning away) Is San Diego a big place? ;-)
