100 Things About Me
Well, almost 100. Actually, not even close. But eventually I'll get there! In the meantime, here are some interesting factoids:
- I lived in Portland, OR for the first 29 years of my life.
- Except for the 3 months I spent in Washington, D.C. working as an intern.
- I worked in the Music Division of the Library of Congress, not in the White House.
- I lived in Boston from October 2004 to August 2005, and now am back in my hometown.
- I am currently working part-time from home and going to school.
- I'm studying interactive media design at the Art Institute Online
- My birthday is August 14.
- I turned 30 this year.
- I'm a Leo. Meow.
- My older brother is 6 years my senior.
- My sister is 15 years and one week younger than I am.
- I have a brother who's 18 years plus a couple months younger than me.
- They're all my half-sibs.
- I have light blue, almost grey, eyes.
- My hair is brown with blonde highlights.
- My bachelor's degree is in music.
- I haven't gotten a master's yet because I can't decide what to get it in.
- I like Coke better than Pepsi.
- When it comes to the question of "which" James Bond, Sean Connery is the only real Double-Oh-Seven. Or, in other words, "Roger Moore WHO?"
- Pierce Brosnan is awfully cute, however.
- And Timothy Dalton was a pretty good Bond too. Too bad he was only in two flicks.
- I skipped my 10-year high school reunion.
- I took ice skating lessons when I was 11. I wanted to go to the Olympics.
- I never skated in even one competition.
- I play flute and piano.
- I have the Cutest Dog on the Planet.
- I was there when she was born and watched her take her first breath.
- She was the biggest puppy in the litter.
- She weighed 3.7 ounces.
- This is what she looked like the day she was born. (She's the one with the red collar.
- I have horrible hay fever and allergies and take anti-histamines (almost) year-round.
- I have never, ever mowed a lawn. Not even once.
- I don't intend to mow a lawn. Ever.
- My first "real" job was in a fabric store for $4.75 per hour (minimum wage at the time).
- Even then, this seemed like a pittance.
- I know how to sew.
- I know how to knit.
- I've knitted 4 sweaters in my life, two of which were for my grandmother.
- I have a scrapbook devoted to 100 things I want to do in my lifetime.
- I've only thought of 65 things to do, so far.
- I've only completed 19 of those items.
- I absolutely adore movies, particularly those made from books set in 19th century.
- I dislike watching and/or playing most sports.
- Despite this fact, I'm a die hard Red Sox fan. Having lived in New England, how could I not be?
- I am a runner.
- In October 2003, I ran my first marathon.
- I finished in 5 hours, 5 minutes and 7 seconds.
- I haven't run farther than 7 miles since then.
- I regularly suffer from Iliotibial Band Syndrome, an overuse injury that just makes running life miserable if not treated.
- It took almost a year to fully recover from ITBS after the marathon.
- I have an inexplicable fondness for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. (Yes, the orange stuff!)
- I can't eat it, though, because I'm allergic to dairy. [SIGH]
- I love sushi, especially fresh salmon (sake).
- My least favorite chore in the entire world is cleaning the bathroom. I mean, I just hate it.
- Yes, I clean the bathroom anyway, albeit not as often as I probably should.
- I do like doing laundry, however.
- I still have Dewey, the teddy bear I got for my 1st birthday.
- His "real" name was "Freddy Bear," according to the box, but I couldn't say that as a 1-year-old. So I called him "Dewey Bo."
- Both my grandfathers died last year from the same thing: an aneurysm.
- I don't smoke.
- I don't drink.
