100 Things About Me

Well, almost 100. Actually, not even close. But eventually I'll get there! In the meantime, here are some interesting factoids:

  1. I lived in Portland, OR for the first 29 years of my life.
  2. Except for the 3 months I spent in Washington, D.C. working as an intern.
  3. I worked in the Music Division of the Library of Congress, not in the White House.
  4. I lived in Boston from October 2004 to August 2005, and now am back in my hometown.
  5. I am currently working part-time from home and going to school.
  6. I'm studying interactive media design at the Art Institute Online
  7. My birthday is August 14.
  8. I turned 30 this year.
  9. I'm a Leo. Meow.
  10. My older brother is 6 years my senior.
  11. My sister is 15 years and one week younger than I am.
  12. I have a brother who's 18 years plus a couple months younger than me.
  13. They're all my half-sibs.
  14. I have light blue, almost grey, eyes.
  15. My hair is brown with blonde highlights.
  16. My bachelor's degree is in music.
  17. I haven't gotten a master's yet because I can't decide what to get it in.
  18. I like Coke better than Pepsi.
  19. When it comes to the question of "which" James Bond, Sean Connery is the only real Double-Oh-Seven. Or, in other words, "Roger Moore WHO?"
  20. Pierce Brosnan is awfully cute, however.
  21. And Timothy Dalton was a pretty good Bond too. Too bad he was only in two flicks.
  22. I skipped my 10-year high school reunion.
  23. I took ice skating lessons when I was 11. I wanted to go to the Olympics.
  24. I never skated in even one competition.
  25. I play flute and piano.
  26. I have the Cutest Dog on the Planet.
  27. I was there when she was born and watched her take her first breath.
  28. She was the biggest puppy in the litter.
  29. She weighed 3.7 ounces.
  30. This is what she looked like the day she was born. (She's the one with the red collar.
  31. I have horrible hay fever and allergies and take anti-histamines (almost) year-round.
  32. I have never, ever mowed a lawn. Not even once.
  33. I don't intend to mow a lawn. Ever.
  34. My first "real" job was in a fabric store for $4.75 per hour (minimum wage at the time).
  35. Even then, this seemed like a pittance.
  36. I know how to sew.
  37. I know how to knit.
  38. I've knitted 4 sweaters in my life, two of which were for my grandmother.
  39. I have a scrapbook devoted to 100 things I want to do in my lifetime.
  40. I've only thought of 65 things to do, so far.
  41. I've only completed 19 of those items.
  42. I absolutely adore movies, particularly those made from books set in 19th century.
  43. I dislike watching and/or playing most sports.
  44. Despite this fact, I'm a die hard Red Sox fan. Having lived in New England, how could I not be?
  45. I am a runner.
  46. In October 2003, I ran my first marathon.
  47. I finished in 5 hours, 5 minutes and 7 seconds.
  48. I haven't run farther than 7 miles since then.
  49. I regularly suffer from Iliotibial Band Syndrome, an overuse injury that just makes running life miserable if not treated.
  50. It took almost a year to fully recover from ITBS after the marathon.
  51. I have an inexplicable fondness for Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. (Yes, the orange stuff!)
  52. I can't eat it, though, because I'm allergic to dairy. [SIGH]
  53. I love sushi, especially fresh salmon (sake).
  54. My least favorite chore in the entire world is cleaning the bathroom. I mean, I just hate it.
  55. Yes, I clean the bathroom anyway, albeit not as often as I probably should.
  56. I do like doing laundry, however.
  57. I still have Dewey, the teddy bear I got for my 1st birthday.
  58. His "real" name was "Freddy Bear," according to the box, but I couldn't say that as a 1-year-old. So I called him "Dewey Bo."
  59. Both my grandfathers died last year from the same thing: an aneurysm.
  60. I don't smoke.
  61. I don't drink.
